Podcast "Proper Geknipt" with Gert Verheyen: A unique experience at Loostermans
At regular intervals we receive special guests at Loostermans' house, where the podcast " Proper Geknipt " is also recorded. Today we had the honor of welcoming Gert Verheyen , former professional footballer and media figure. I was exceptionally allowed to be present, for which I am grateful. Also an extra thank you to Hans Vanderhallen , director of Coöperatie Hoogstraten, for "fixing" this podcast. Or to put it in Gert's words: how "sjotten in den tuin van de Vanderhalle-kes en tussen de gurkenbakken van de veiling" can be the key to a podcast decades later...
Gert Verheyen has retained his casual clothing style after his active football career. He is known for his preference for comfortable, practical but certainly also stylish clothing, which suits his down-to-earth and modest personality. The podcast is known for its surprisingly sincere and authentic testimonials, which is one of the reasons why I am a fan of Proper Geknipt. Gert emphasized the importance of feeling good, which he believes starts with self-confidence. This means something different to everyone. While he used to pay little attention to his haircut (until he met barber Gert Rombouts from Haarbazaar Deluxe ), he finds dressing stylishly on the bike extremely important. He loves stylish cycling clothing with a retro twist and is therefore a fan of The Vandal collection at Loostermans. Another fun anecdote: For his 50th birthday, he received a cycling jersey with blue-black vertical stripes and a large 50 from Club Brugge, a gift he has never worn...
According to Gert, dressing stylishly ensures that you are confident on the bike and perform better. This was also true during his football career, in which he preferred European football jerseys, with a maximum size for the shirt sponsor... Fortunately, the flashy designer outfits that top footballers walk around in today were not yet an issue back then, according to Gert.
